Are there other Hitch Basket carriers on the market?

There are platform carriers that are called baskets but they are not true baskets.

Other products come with only a very small edging around a platform which does not provide any security. All of the other products require additional strapping of the load to a platform, they are very heavy, awkward to use and almost impossible to store.

Some, but not all manufacturers have additional cost optional rails that usually cover only 2 sides of the platform yet this still does not create a complete basket.

Nothing we have seen comes close to providing a complete, easy to use hitch mounted basket like the Hitch-Basket carriers by Woodshed Technologies.

How strong is the Hitch Basket?

Very strong! The Hitch-Basket is made of steel, and when properly loaded can easily handle its 250 Lb. loading. We have tested to a loading of 320 Lbs. before it showed stress damage to the tongue.

Can the Hitch Basket be used with any vehicle hitch?

Our Hitch-Basket can be used with any standard 1-1/4" or 2" square hitch receiver on any vehicle. It was not designed to be used with "ball type" hitches.

Can the Hitch Basket only be used on an automobile?

No, the Hitch-Basket can be used with any standard 1-1/4" or 2" square hitch receiver on any vehicle such as an automobile, pickup truck or ATV and that is what makes the Hitch-Basket from Woodshed so useful.

Is the Hitch Basket easy to handle?

Yes! It can be removed from storage, carried to a vehicle and attached to the hitch receiver easily, even by a small person.
That is what makes the Hitch-Basket so valuable to own.

Is it legal to use my Hitch Basket on my family automobile?

Yes, it is legal to attach the Hitch-Basket to your vehicle.

Our Hitch-Basket does not extend past the legal limit on loads to be carried from the rear of vehicles, and it does not interfere with the vehicle rear lighting.
